This blog site tells the story of my daughter, Yam, who courageously battled leukemia, with much help from countless friends and good samaritans. She fought with elegance and grace, with wit and humor, with unquestioning acceptance and hope. She won battles for two years. Then she relapsed and quickly lost the war.
But the war against this deadly disease continues. One battle front is fostering awareness about the disease and sharing experiences so others may learn.
It's also my desire to perpetuate my daughter's survivor attitude to live on, in her memory. A very thoughtful person who became Yam's fan and a dear friend to us suggested that we keep this going. I thought so too because if there is just one person who is inspired, learns, or is touched by the posts in this site, then putting it up is all worth the effort.
This site also somehow shows how we, as a family, responded to the difficult situations we faced, how we coped and are coping on with life after the great loss.
